Rashmika Mandanna’s Hip Injury Brings Her Closer to Vijay Deverakonda

Rashmika Mandanna is all set to return to work after spending nearly a month and a half away from film sets due to a painful hip injury. While the injury temporarily disrupted her busy schedule, the unexpected break also gave the popular actor something she had rarely experienced since her wedding — uninterrupted quality time with husband and actor-producer Vijay Deverakonda.

Rashmika suffered the injury while shooting a song sequence for her upcoming action thriller Mysaa in July. Recalling the incident, the actor revealed that the tendon around her hip bone snapped during the shoot. Despite feeling something was wrong, she continued filming until she was unable to lift her right leg.

She later visited a hospital and underwent an MRI scan. According to Rashmika, even the doctors were surprised by the severity of her injury because she had managed to walk into the hospital on her own. Although she was medically cleared to resume work within a week, the actor chose to take additional time off to recover properly.

The break turned out to be especially meaningful for Rashmika and Vijay. Due to their demanding professional schedules, the couple reportedly had spent very little time together after getting married in February. Rashmika revealed that they had even gone nearly three months without properly meeting, mostly staying connected through phone calls.

During her recovery, the couple found time to enjoy simple moments together at home. Rashmika, who enjoys watching K-dramas, said Vijay prefers serious shows, and the two eventually started watching both types of content together. She jokingly added that she had successfully managed to convert him into watching some of her favourite shows.

Vijay reportedly hopes they can enjoy more relaxed days together in the future, but without another injury forcing them to stay at home.

Apart from spending time with Vijay, Rashmika also enjoyed sleeping, reading, solving puzzles and making memories with her family. She admitted that she does not like depending on others and tried to remain as independent as possible during her recovery.

Rashmika is now preparing to resume shooting for Ranabaali, which also stars Vijay Deverakonda. The film reportedly has only around 10 days of shooting remaining and is scheduled for release on October 16. Fans will also remember the pair’s earlier collaborations in Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade.
