As tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate, concerns are growing that the conflict could expand beyond Iran and directly affect Gulf nations. According to reports and statements attributed to Iranian military sources, Tehran has warned that if the United States launches another round of strikes on Iranian civilian infrastructure, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) could become its next target.

The warning comes after several consecutive days of reported US airstrikes inside Iran. Iranian officials claim that repeated attacks on civilian and strategic infrastructure have crossed a red line. In response, Iran has reportedly threatened to target key facilities in the UAE, particularly Dubai International Airport and Abu Dhabi International Airport, if another wave of US attacks takes place.

The UAE has so far remained largely outside the direct military confrontation despite the ongoing regional conflict. Analysts believe this is due to the country’s extensive diplomatic ties with major powers, including India, and its role as a global business and tourism hub. Millions of expatriates, including a large Indian community, live and work in the UAE, making any attack on major cities a matter of international concern.

Iranian sources have reportedly advised that airports in Dubai and Abu Dhabi should be evacuated if US strikes continue. The stated reason is to reduce the risk of civilian casualties, as these airports handle thousands of international passengers from around the world every day. However, no official evacuation order has been issued by UAE authorities.

The latest threats have also intensified concerns in neighboring countries such as Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Saudi Arabia has already witnessed attacks on facilities linked to US military operations, while Pakistan is closely monitoring developments due to its defense cooperation with Gulf nations.

Meanwhile, Russia and the UAE have both called for an immediate de-escalation of hostilities, warning that continued military action could destabilize the entire region. For the UAE, prolonged conflict poses a significant economic risk. Dubai and Abu Dhabi have invested billions of dollars in building their reputation as safe global centers for business, tourism, finance, and international events. Any missile strike on critical infrastructure could severely damage investor confidence and tourism.

Separately, claims circulating in some international media that the UAE secretly transferred billions of dollars to Iran in exchange for security guarantees have been officially denied by the Emirati government. UAE authorities have described these reports as false and without factual basis.
